About us

The First Baptist Church of Stoneville was organized on May 10, 1900 with 16 charter members forming the congregation. Early in the history of our church, services were held once a month in four different churches in town. Our church had worship services on the third Sunday of the month. Everything revolved around the third Sunday and remnants of that tradition seem to still be present today with our "Third Sunday Night Fellowship."

The First Baptist Church is affiliated with the Dan Valley Missionary Baptist Association, The North Carolina Baptist State Convention and the Southern Baptist Convention. We support the beliefs of these organizations and our purpose is to teach the Bible, promote missions, and to share the love of Christ with everyone we meet. The church has sponsored several mission trips for pastors and members alike. From Brazil to Chile we believe that all missionary work, home or abroad, is the command of Jesus Christ. "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations..." -Matthew 28:19
